Certified Bahraini Art Therapist Dalal Al Sindi practices alternative means of healing and therapy through visual expression and the creative process.
Trained in the UK, Dalal practiced Art Therapy at The King Fahad Medical City in Riyadh, working at The Rehabilitation Hospital with patients suffering from a range of mental and psychological issues, varying from stroke, traumatic brain injury, cancer, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, anorexia, PTSD, schizophrenia and most of all depression.
Dalal’s unique form of alternative therapy results in the understanding and healing of a person’s mind via creative self-expression. By using the very personal medium of art, Dalal works with individuals and groups to help identify hidden issues and then develop a plan for healing and rehabilitation.
By analyzing and discussing your use of shapes, colors, symbols, creative inspiration and processes, Dalal helps you gain a deeper understanding of your subconscious and psyche as well as your emotional and psychological construct.
Dalal Al Sindi is working with the newly-opened Art Therapy Center in Riyadat Mall in A’ali, hosting Art Therapy Individual and Group sessions, Art Therapy Workshops, and Fine Art Painting Courses.
Born and raised in The Kingdom of Bahrain, Dalal Al Sindi offers an international approach to therapy tempered with a local understanding and appreciation of Bahrain’s culture and people. Dalal encourages spontaneous expressions of art and specializes in the understanding of the artistic process. “I believe that everyone is an artist” says Dalal, “and everyone is capable of tapping into their imagination to gain better self-awareness and appreciation.”
Art Therapy services explained:
· Open Art Therapy Studio: a space for individuals willing to unleash their imagination and be encouraged to discuss what their creativity says about them. A very personal session without commitment held within a safe environment. The group dynamic and discussion results in a meaningful awareness of one’s self.
· Specialized Art Therapy Groups: very focused and confidential groups with a maximum of five people, these groups work with specific types of issues ranging from professional stress, single parenthood, social anxiety, low motivation, insomnia, communication and expression difficulties between families, couples etc. The group is also anonymous and strictly confidential.
· Individual Art Therapy Sessions: This one-on-one session is direct and personal, concentrating on the individual’s struggles and setbacks. Once the issues are identified in the initial session, a program for healing and therapy is outlined with realistic goals, set by both the individual and the therapist. This is very helpful for people who prefer complete anonymity.
