{"id":1,"date":"2015-11-24T14:58:22","date_gmt":"2015-11-24T14:58:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/http:\/\/artherapievirtus.org\/vda\/"},"modified":"2016-08-27T18:28:33","modified_gmt":"2016-08-27T18:28:33","slug":"red-pencil","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/artherapievirtus.org\/vda\/red-pencil\/","title":{"rendered":"The Red Pencil International NEW 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Red Pencil&rsquo;s mission is to bring the benefits of arts therapy to children, adults, families, and their caregivers, as a pathway to balance and wellbeing, with a special attention to those facing overwhelming life circonstances such as natural disasters conflict zones and long-term hospitalizations.<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_lTPw31S5fM?rel=0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h5>It is the core mission of The Red Pencil to bring the power of the Arts to everyone with a special focus on Arts Therapy.<\/h5>\n<p>Arts Therapy promotes expression, healing and well-being through the creative process of arts-making.<\/p>\n<p>Through art, music, dance and drama, Arts Therapy reaches the depths of our being\u00a0where words are simply inadequate or not enough.<\/p>\n<p>Be part of The Red Pencil\u2019s journey today as we expand our humanitarian missions and projects to more than 20 (and counting) countries around the world.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Since 2012, The Red Pencil has embarked on various humanitarian missions in Asia and now in Europe and the Middle East. The Art Therapy Response Teams (ART) consists of art, music and dance therapists from all over the world, who collaborate with international organisations to attend to those facing natural disasters, conflict zones and overwhelming situations.<\/p>\n<p>ART had its maiden trip to Cambodia in September 2012, attending to beneficiaries at a public hospital. Thereafter, the humanitarian missions expanded to assist beneficiaries who had survived but was nevertheless traumatized by natural disasters such as the Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, Sichuan earthquake in China and the Fukushima nuclear disaster in Japan.
