Il tombe dans la consommation d&rsquo;h\u00e9ro\u00efne et se met \u00e0 faire des escapades dans des quartiers peu recommandables de la ville. Peu \u00e0 peu Caterina prend conscience qu&rsquo;elle ne sait absolument rien de son fils. Elle entre dans une crise qui remet en question la fa\u00e7on ant\u00e9rieure dont elle se croyait m\u00e8re et artiste. Apr\u00e8s un entretien avec Mustafa, ami de Joe et dealer de drogue, elle change de comportement : elle s\u00e9duit son fils et, au cours d&rsquo;un voyage \u00e0 Parme, elle entretient avec lui des relations incestueuses.
